marvel online

if you want to know when your favorite comic book comes out on the shelves, you naturally go to the publisher's website. And once a week, that's exactly what i do. First i go to DC to see if there's anything interesting coming out (not to mention dc has this short animated strip called gotham girls or something that's actually cute to watch. harley's my favorite). After, i shift gears and go to Top Cow for the return of micheal turner's aspen, magdalena, if ever there's a new aria series, witchblade. Then i go to the site i dread the most. marvel online.

there's just something wrong with that website. For a company who's among the top ranks in the comicbook industry, that site just doesnt cut it. it's slow (probably bec. of how much flash stuff they placed in there) it hangs. and worse of all, it's never updated.

for the past 3 weeks i've been trying to check when 1602 issue 6 comes out. for the past 3 weeks, the whole month of january, comprising 4 weeks of 'comics on sale' pages said the same things. the same comic books were being released week after week. today, i found out it was released last week. my reaction: "... shit." see, 1602 is written by neil gaiman and marvel isnt printing a lot of it. issues are limited.

so what to do now? *ahem.
dear marvel e.i.c., (quesada i think)
this is probably one of the reasons why marvel is starting to lose to DC and losing money. we have to guess when the comic books are coming out.

misconception

When i was in the small little college downtown, i couldnt wait to get out of that small little college and into the lovely university called ubc. Imagine. ubc should be more fun. its a bigger campus-- much bigger that 2 and a half floors shared with bcit. there are more people. there should be loads of stuff to do during breaks.
guess what. i was wrong.
ubc is boring. theres nothing to do during breaks and you cant really stare at the sky because of vancouver weather-- its always cloudy, the sun doesnt exist. yes, its a bigger campus but after awhile, it gets tiring walking from one end to another in less than 10 mins just to get to class. And since i came in in the middle of the semester and on my second year, its also harder to make friends because everybody is pretty much established their own little groups already. To get my coffee, i have to walk 10 mins as oppose to just crossing the street before.
needless to say, i miss downtown. people were more interesting to watch. the mall was right behind the little college and food wasnt hard to find (in fact, the harder thing was deciding what to eat coz you're surrounded by food places) i cant get my mondo gelato anymore, i cant go look at books at chapters, i cant play my time crisis 3 etc. not to mention everybody in the university seem to like hanging out in the lib to study.
for short, i'm bored. and boredom never really suited me well coz when i'm in school, bored out of my wits, i start to do something that isnt very crammer me like-- i start to study and i really dont like to study during breaks.
how sad is that?
